Surface EMG
We experience life through our nervous system. Simply put, if our nervous system doesn’t work right, we don’t work right. And when we don’t work right, we’re not healthy!
We use technology to measure the condition of your nervous system. It's a noninvasive procedure called surface EMG.
Stethoscope for the Spine
The same part of your nervous system that controls your internal organs regulates the temperature of your skin. Our instrument measures differences as small as a tenth of a degree!
Nervous system compromise causes muscles along the spine to exhibit unusual electrical activity. Our equipment can detect differences as small as a millionth of a volt
Your Nervous System Scan
Each bar represents a different amount of nervous system disturbance. This scan is done in both the standing and sitting positions. After gowning, we’ll have you sit still for a moment or two. Then, starting at the base of your skull, we’ll touch your skin with two probes at 12 different sites until we reach to lower back. Think of these as radio antennas listening for a distant station. That’s it. The computer does the rest!
Later at the report of findings you’ll see the computerized printout and learn what it means. Because your care is based on the condition of your nervous system, not how you feel, this technology is one of the focal points of our analysis of your condition.
Your Brain and Body System Scan
After the initial phase of care is accomplished, clients have and opportunity to further improve their health through advanced care. The analysis used to enter this phase of care is the most advanced in the chiropractic profession. We use a piece of equipment called a Biograph Infinity unit from Thought Technologies in Montreal Canada (the largest manufacturer neurophysiological equipment in the world). This examination will tell the doctor how normally the brain and 5 other systems of the body are functioning during a series of short mental and emotional stress challenges. Our brains have a normal activity level at which they operate. Get excited or threaten and the activity level of the brain and body systems change. When the threat or challenge is removed, the activity level should return to normal. This analysis tells our doctors if your brain is reacting as it should. If it doesn’t, we are equipped to help you restore normal function.
The benefits of having normal function are huge in regard to your health. Having the brain activity levels return to a calm state will stop stress hormones from flooding the blood stream. This means all body functions will return to normal, i.e. (inflammatory process reduces, autoimmune response normalizes, constricted arteries will relax, pain levels will be reduced or eliminated, flight or fight stress response eliminated just to name a few). The normal healing process can now occur. Dr Bruce Lipton’s research has found that our bodies can only do one thing at a time, either operate in a flight or fight mode or operate in a calm relaxed healing mode. Our bodies health and healing mode requires that the brain calm down after any stressful situation, thereby deleting the stress response.
EEG and Physiology “Quick Stress Test”
EEG stands for electro-encephalo-graph. EEG is a scan of the electrical energy waves that your brain is producing. These scans or graphs are read in Hz frequency that can be interpreted to determine how over-active, under-active or normally calm your brain is functioning.
The physiology scans are measuring the effects of the nervous systems activity level on your respiration, skin temperature, heart rhythms, heart rate and skin conductance (sweat response to stress).
