Introducing Akron chiropractor Dr. William Mudryk

“I never intended to be a chiropractor,” remembers Dr.  Mudryk. "The events surrounding my mother’s and other family members’ health made me a believer.”  After seeing things like headaches, bursitis, multiple sclerosis, and years of repetitive sore throats get better through chiropractic care, Dr. Bill’s path and career became clear. The rest is history.

In 1972, Dr. Bill’s mother had been suffering with bursitis of the shoulder and could not work.  She had received 3 months of medical care but was not helped.  Through a family member’s suggestion, she went to a chiropractor and recovered a short time later.  This started a stream of family members going to this chiropractor, all getting incredible results.  Later that year, Dr. Bill and his wife attended a class at the chiropractor’s office where they learned that the nervous system controls everything in the body.  They learned that the nervous system can experience interference at the spinal level.  Correct that problem, and the body can heal itself.

A year and a half later, he and his wife Eileen moved to Spartanburg S.C. where he attended Sherman College of Chiropractic and received his Doctorate Degree in 1977.  What surprised them was that they had both graduated from college but had never been taught that the body is actually designed by to heal itself.  They now knew that fighting a cold or the flu with a fever and a cough is a normal, healthy body response.  They also gained a massive respect for the how the body was made and its ability to adapt to our environment when there is no interference to the control system.  This experience changed their lives so much that 5 other family members are chiropractors today.

Seeing people get hope after being hopeless, and watching them begin to understand that their bodies have a natural inborn ability to heal “gives him life.”  He has been known to say, "I love it when someone really gets it."  It's  satisfying and fulfilling to him when one of his practice members really understands that his or her body is designed by God to heal itself, and we don’t need more drugs or surgeries to get well. We just need improved communication between our brain and body.

Dr. Bill met his wife, Eileen, at Slippery Rock State College, where they both received B.S. degrees in teaching.  They were married in 1970 and taught public school in Corry, Pa. for 3 years.  While Dr. Bill attended Sherman College, Eileen taught in Greenville, SC. (She put him through school). The practice opened in Ephrata, PA in 1977 and moved to Rothsville in 1995.  Presently Dr. Bill is on the Board of Directors of: Teaching The Word Ministries and Jeremiah Project (2 area ministries), and The Chiropractic Fellowship of PA.  Whenever possible, sailing a catamaran, going to the beach, cross country skiing and geocaching fill Bill and Eileen’s time.

Our habit is to get adjusted regularly because a good nerve supply is essential for a healthy body.  Eating a 40-30-30 diet (the Zone) pretty much dominates how we eat, and a moderate exercise program 3 to 4 times a week rounds out our lifestyle.  We know that to be healthy, you need to take care of the "temple."  The most important thing we do is to take care of our soul and spirit through reading the Bible and communing with GOD.  Chiropractic care isn't the only thing that is required for health, but a good nerve supply is foundational.

your doctor Asks some important questions of interest to Akron residents - Chiropractor Akron your doctor Asks...

What's the difference between sick care and health care?
Sick care is largely about relieving or suppressing symptoms. Health care is about improving performance. While sick care is about how you feel, health care is about how you function. Sick care is what you do to treat an obvious problem, and health care is what you do to avoid the problem and advance your well-being.
Would you rather feel good or be healthy?
Ask most people in Akron and they want to feel good. Careful! Would you take medicine that makes you feel good, rather than vomit to expel improperly prepared food? Every chiropractic practice member knows that you can't measure your health by how you feel. True health is when your body works as it should.
